today a friend of mine e-mailed me information about a haircare company looking for black girls with natural styles to test a new, all-natural product... (with compensation, of course)... i'm always on the lookout for good stuff for my afro, so i sent my info, along with the requested photo. a woman called me back right away... everything sounded good until she explained that the product, to be tested for 8 weeks, was a GRADUAL STRAIGHTENING PRODUCT... i swear, my little curls kinked tighter upon those words. i repeated "no!" over and over, while frantically pressing the end-call button on my phone.
that has nothing to do with uteruses. (uteri?) but it happened today and then I drew this picture. so, yeah.
(oh and also? there is nothing natural about a product that claims to "gradually straighten" kinky- black-girl-hair.)
