i'm making brussels sprouts and listening to christmas music... i created a christmas station on pandora using the jackson 5 christmas song. funky, motown christmas music reminds me of christmas growing up... when it used to happy and bright. these days, whenever i listen to christmas music like this, my heart aches and i feel lonely and sad. christmas with my family certainly isn't the same and the holidays often leave me feeling very alone.
on a more positive note, the jackson 5 certainly knew how to make christmas funky! imma have to reclaim this time of year and make it joyful and fun again. and funky. for sure.
