A couple of weeks ago I got an invitation to the Presentation of the Leo Baeck Medal to Her Excellency Angela Merkel (Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany) from my friends at Germany Close Up. I was surprised and excited to get such an important political invite, and thankful that my pending unemployment would allow me to attend.
So today I went... I met a few new friends and reunited with a few from Berlin. And I got to get up close and personal with Angie. And for the record, that little lady in the foreground of my photo is none other than Dr. Ruth.
