limelight.
due to the fact that i was too young at it's height (and i lived in vermont), i never went to limelight... i went a couple times when it was avalon, but was unimpressed. last night michal and i walked by the gothic revival shell to find that it had been turned into a brothel of odd shops. entering the superficially, eerily lit mini-mall felt like entering a real life "shining." everything was off... the merchandise was prop-like... not for consumer consumption, and the attendants looked to be soulless... perhaps vaguely possessed. the minute i passed the once episcopal threshold, everything in my being screamed for me to get out. i think some pretty weird stuff went down there years ago and the bad energy lingers on. in short, opening that place as a shopping center seems very, very wrong... it should perhaps just be left to rot and crumble in peace.

Ron and I didn't get a good feeling in there either but we couldn't quite articulate our thoughts. You said it perfectly.
