we were driving one night and we came up on this glinting statue, rising sharply... commandingly, into the night. it was amazing... on par with the architecture of the city... i looked out the back window until it was out of sight. the statue was of yuri gagarin, the first man in space... so the monument design was fitting. i didn't get any photos because it was dark and we were moving fast, but here are a couple... (i can't find the photo credit for the first one, but i found it here, and the second one is from life.com.)
