ok. first. note. i cannot upload photos to my blog... i have been trying and trying and the connection here just can't handle it. i will keep trying, but... boo!

so yeah. i love berlin.

today we went on a bus tour, which i have to admit, was kind of fun... it was awesome to get an overview of berlin... and our guide was really awesome. she was telling us how she was a taxi driver at the time the wall came down. she said her boss radioed to say the wall was coming down... she thought he was joking... she went to check it out... and sure enough... she said there were so many people streaming through from east germany... they came to her with addresses of relatives they hadn't been able to see in years, asking her to take them to them... they had only east german money and offered to pay her three times the fare, but she took nothing and drove people to reunite with their families and loved ones through the night. i liked that story. we walked along the remaining wall at the east side gallery along the river... the sense of history in this city is powerful...

later in the day we had a discussion with author, murat ham and jouralist sada farzan on immigration and integration in germany... followed by a lecture on german history, from an historian from humboldt... followed by a walking tour of minimalist jewish memorials...

deanna, another girl on the trip and i, just finished two hours of beautiful yoga... earlier today we found this cafe for women only... in which we ate... it was kind of amazing... we had just been looking for a place to use the bathroom before we went to this health food store, to grab some snacks... and we came across this place... the lady there spoke no english and we spoke very little german, but we managed to work everything out. so yeah, deanna and i got to talking about religion... spirituality... philosophy... and as it turns out, we are quite similar. so we came back to the hotel and practiced together, with a guided meditation at the end. i knew we were soulmates when she took out her essential oils of lavender and peppermint for us to apply before we practiced (mine were upstairs...)

but man, i am exhausted and i want to run to checkpoint charlie when the sun rises tomorrow... so imma stop writing. i know this writing is none-too-inspiring... especially without the photos. i also know that there must be spelling errors, as the spell check doesn't work here. but anyway...

I love photos but they are not everything. Words create great pictures (imagination) too, dont forget that!
